We Need Your Aluminum!

The Holly Help Spay Fund operates primarily from the funds obtained by recycling aluminum cans. We maintain no bank accounts, nor do we possess a paid staff. All Holly Help positions are manned strictly by unpaid volunteers. We continue to provide our spay and neuter assistance to over l000 community animals. One of our goals is to reduce the number of animals entering our local shelters by actively reducing their population. In turn, we hope that one day, animals will remain in our shelters until an adoptive home can be found, instead of facing euthanasia after a few short days due to pet over population. If you are impressed with our level of commitment to help the animals of our area, please consider saving your aluminum cans for us to recycle… Lives are depending on it !

MAKING PROGRESS WITH THE PET OVER POPULATION PROBLEM:

One informed Humane Organization, Save Our Strays, reports that a 'significant' number of sterilizations MUST be performed, per day, in order to achieve the desired results when fighting pet over population. They have offered these figures as a base to judge progress by:

15 Sterilizations per day - Ineffective
20 - 30 Sterilizations per day - Marking Time
30 - 50 Sterilizations per day - Making An Impact On Over Population

There is virtually no place to go to get animals spayed or neutered for free. Every surgery has a price tag attached to it. It takes an astronomical amount of aluminum cans to affect the surgeries for 30 to 50 animals per day. Yet, in order to see the results we are looking for, we must increase and maintain our surgery numbers. The only answer to this dilemma is to increase our aluminum can intake volume. Please ask a friend, neighbor, relative or co-worker to begin saving their cans for this effort. Don't forget your church, school, business or civic organization as a source for saving aluminum cans also. Everyone is capable of this endeavor and… every can counts!

GETTING THE PROPER EXERCISE:

Does your doctor constantly tell you to "Get More Exercise " ? By now, we all know the health benefits associated with daily walking, a doctor recommended exercise for better health, fitness, and longevity. While we all know that walking is one of the best forms of exercise, we somehow just can't seem to get started on establishing a routine of better fitness for ourselves. A daily walk will not only be a benefit to your life, but to the lives of animals and the environment as well. Here's your chance to kill 3 birds with one stone…

- Make a pledge today to begin a walking program to benefit your health.
- Take along with you, one or two of the thousands of plastic shopping-grocery bags that you have kept 'neatly' stashed away in your kitchen closet.
- The sides of our roads are literally covered with aluminum cans that are not only unsightly, but are going to waste as well. As you walk, fill your bags with the empty aluminum drink cans that you pass along the way. Then, deposit them at any one of the many convenient Holly Help drop-off location sites whenever it is convenient for you.

By following these easy steps, you will increase your own fitness, help rid the street of litter and you will be playing an important part in helping to fund an aggressive anti-pet overpopulation agenda at the same time. We will appreciate you, the animals will adore you and the planet will love you for your help.

It's a Win-Win situation for all concerned . So let's get started today !
